this year is from 5 to 8 December
classic Milano traditional fair since the year 1288 (!) around the streets where I was born (I always lived here), full of strange items, antique things, food, etc. This fair is like coming back to my childhood and its special atmosphere announces the Christmas time coming soon.
The name in dialect means "oh belli", oh beautiful, referring to children looking at the nice things.
In those days it's holiday in Milan, 7 December for Sant'Ambrogio, patron saint of the city, 8 December Our Lady day. Until some years ago it was around Saint Ambrogio church, that is my church, now it's close but around another place, Castello Sforzesco castle, there's more space and police can control in a better way, as people living around Saint Ambrogio were complaining about the confusion in those days.
