this is the blog of www.miamilan.com

And after the Englishman Charlie Chaplin in Brazil, here we have Alfred Hitchcock silhouette :).
We could make a Pretty Green New Year night (Capodanno) on 31 December, the awards-winning fashion brand that started in Milan. 2012 will see our clothes in a film (about the Beatles), womenswear (plus kidswear) and a shop in Milano, we can decide about it. Dress code: hmm..let's see.. Pretty Green :).
Noel Gallagher tried to make a film with his videos, but featuring Russell Brand (Oasis' Yoko Ono, making them split, one of many reasons :) it looked like a bullshit (I wonder whether in England there's anyone who likes him... everybody always tell me everybody hates him... as Noel says: everybody hates the English people).
The other day there was (Newcastle supporter :) Sting to meet in Milan again, the mods leader, the Ace Face in Quadrophenia, Liam's favourite film (I met him wearing my parka and telling him "we are mods" :). He produces wine and food in Italy, that's why he comes so often. His similar Italian scooter in Pretty Green stores (photos of Liam riding it).

the British movie The Italian Job (1969), featuring Noel the coward, lol. The scaredy cat.
Opening scene, (beautiful) song: On days like these, Matt Monro.
Questi giorni quando VIENI (lol) il bel sole (these days when the nice sun comes)
la la la la la-la-la-la la la la la
On days like these when skies are oasisblues and fields are prettygreen
I look around and think about what might have been...
...singing songs and drinking wine
while your beady eyes played games with mine

trailer - also starring Benny Hill. The final scene was quite enigmatic...
The remake, featuring the most beautiful woman in the world, Charlize Theron, was obviously of a different year, still speeding :)
...also Stereophonics' Pick a part that's new video was inspired by this

Bullit, another one with a famous car chase scene, feat. Steve McQueen, one of Liam's idols, inspiring the Pretty Green GP jacket

another one from 1969, Midnight Cowboy, great (bittersweet) film about homosexuality, lol. Inspiring Oasis' great song "Turn up the sun" by Andy Bell (especially the Theme by John Barry), my alarm clock 2005->2008, written in Sweden while on drugs. The soap falling in the shower -> Sotomayor. Featuring Dustin Hoffman and Angelina Jolie's father, Jon Voight.
Everybody's talking at me, I don't hear a word they're saying... I'm going where the sun keeps shining... going where the weather suits my clothes, etc.

Blow-up, by Michelangelo Antonioni (inspiring Oasis' "Who feels love" video with Zabriskie Point), Swinging London inspiring Pretty Green - Carnaby Street, produced by near Milan-ese born Carlo Ponti (Sophia Loren husband). Year: 1966, England world champion. Next time we'll have: film produced by Liam Gallagher. Will we have also England at least Europe champion? Here's what I was saying about models. "I thought you were supposed to be in Paris"... "I am in Paris", lol (Veruschka, model on drugs), plus Jane Birkin & Gillian Hills both in Oasis fringe hairstyle :) and Led Zeppelin's legend Jimmy Page.
Clicking here is also a "threesome" scene :), with Green Onions music, but you need to be subscribed to YouTube to see it.
It would be nice a mix between Blow-up and the Italian Job, 'cause it would be: the blow job ahahaha

psychedelic Wonderwall film for Beady Eye's psychedelic Wigwam x2, plus George Harrison music, inspiration for Beady Eye's 2nd album...

feat. the mods leader Sting, Quadrophenia alley sex scene, Beady Eye music Two of a kind

Vote for British GQ's "Most Stylish Man 2012" here, you know what to do (it's next year: so it's ME, lol). Of course Liam Gallagher.
I wonder why there's no Noel Gallagher, the one singing in falsetto... ah, he's on Grazia magazine... they say it's a bit gay, isn't it. Don't get me wrong: nothing wrong in that, lol. Sometimes I noticed he moves a bit like a homosexual. It's because, just like his fans, they're delicate... the easy-crying type (in fact, he found so many excuses for the Oasis split, the victim). When they hear that "moving", poignant music, they feel "touched" and find consolation in it. I just prefer rock'n'roll.

Talking about gays, yesterday I was talking to a model (engaged to a boy model, you know they're quite "feminine") and I convinced her to leave him... and she really did! Oh Jesus, I was half-joking, and I said they're gays not so seriously. It's just another confirmation that models are retards. Nothing new.
I only said things like: you'll never know a real man in your whole life, lol ("you'll never know, unless you try" :) - Beady Eye's The Morning Son). And things like: you models live in an easy world of appearances, where looking good = it's nice and lasts a lot of time, I've known loads the same as you. I could never love one as you (Oasis' "my heart will never be your home", lol - Stand by me). You're so thin that you look sick. I mean, I'm very thin too, but I eat a lot (of good things, Italian food). All the boy models are at least bisexual, sign of insecurity, they didn't find their identity themselves yet. How can you say you love one when there are millions in the world you can love more, the fact is just that you don't meet them, etc. lol

Liam is not a model and he's much more cool and stylish than them, he's a real man.

When Liam Gallagher chose to start his fashion line Pretty Green, in Milan, I was proud 'cause he chose my city. Obvious choice, 'cause it was elected the first city of fashion in the world. The great results obtained with sales and prizes, say a lot.
Gem said that also the idea to form Beady Eye started here, when Liam was in Milan for Pretty Green.
And when another time Liam gave me as gift the blue cashmere pullover dedicated to Manchester City, that was easily one of the best days ever.
And when another time he told me "nice jacket", I'm easily still wearing that jacket day and night, lol.
And of course also my "Pretty Green scarf, in an English blue navy colour, a must-have: a soft, lightweight polka dot scarf made from 100% cotton and expertly hand-printed by Italy’s leading scarf producer" :).
My grandmother was a tailor (my aunt too), a dressmaker, and they were working at home, with clothes (she had the famous Singer sewing machine, we still have it, along with those old radios, RadioMarelli). Those were the good old traditional jobs. It seems that today, with the international crisis and all, as in my grandparents war times, we'd all still need to do something similar.
The other day I was writing : nobody wants to be told what to do, both young and adult people don't want. Sometimes it's the old people who want that, because they need help. And they're probably the only people who could really tell others what to do, because they have a lot of experience.
Today I'm missing my grandparents, I don't have any left. The other grandmother was a cook (chef), but she had so many activities, tailor too, and helping old people, going to pilgrimages to Lourdes with the Pope (John Paul II), she was a kind of legend for so many people in her valley. Her husband, my grandfather (boxing fan as the "ex Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher" :), had a hotel, that my family still has, that's where my grandmother was working. Of course, as Liam said, "the food's the bollocks", lol.

Україна, Ukrayina. In Kyiv, the draw for the Euro 2012 in Ukraine-Poland, presented by Olga Freimut (really hot), Ukrainian television presenter, journalist and model. She is an avid Fulham fan and was once named amongst Ukraine's 25 most beautiful women. The groups are:
- Poland Russia Greece Czech Republic (easy!),
- Spain Italy Croatia Ireland (uuuuuhhhh), let's see if Cassano and Rossi will be there...
- Holland Germany Portugal Denmark (uuuuuhhh),
- Ukraine England Sweden france (uuuuuhhhh)

Two Italy games are in Poznan... let's "do the Poznan"...
@ South Africa 2010 our Dutch girls of our sponsor from Nederland got arrested (then released), because they had a (very small) brand written on their skirts... absurd. Today my sister goes to Dubai with AC Milan staff... Noel Gallagher's idol Tevez @ AC: 100%.
Good memories of the last Euro / World Cups... 2004 @ legendary Bar Magenta with cute foreign students ;), 2006 @ Football English pub Italy world champion, 2008 at the seaside near Venice with so many foreign people, 2010 @ Football English pub with American & English girls ;). Always the 3 Mediterranean teams winning... (Greece-Italy-Spain) Let's see 2012...
Again, the little balls used for the draw were the same as my first football Tango when I was kid... (and the modern version will be the official ball for Euro 2012), my father didn't let me use it 'cause he put grease on it, to conserve it for a long time... daddy, I just want to use it, at least one time lol. So it was a "home-made" foot ball ahaha ..reminds me of Paolo telling about Oasis moaning for a home-made marmalade... can't we just buy it as all the people do?! lol My family the same, traditional families.

So it's Republic of Ireland with their manager Trapattoni from Milan, vs Mario Balotelli's Italia...

press conferences-shows:

QUA QUA QUA QUA... PLA PLA PLA PLA... CHU CHU CHU CHU... PLA CHA PLA... was verstehen sie DE training? cazzo! ahahahaha
(he's speaking "German" with strong accent from Milan ^_^)
"ma è possibile che non capite mai un cazzo di niente?" (is it possible that you never understand a fucking anything? - timeless sentence)

sind sie bereit? ^.^ ...schwach wie eine Flasche leer ^_^ (SO TRUE... THAT'S HOW THE PEOPLE ARE...)
Strunz ist zwei Jahre hier gespielt keine Spiel... ist immer verletzt... was erlaube..Strunz! (YEAH THAT LAZY CUNT :) ...diese Spieler waren Spieler... (THE GOOD OLD TIMES, LOL) ...ich HABE fertig. ^_^ (NO, NOBODY COULD SACK YOU :)

The blue dome with stars (and England-Milan flag :) and the biggest Christmas (natural) tree in the world have been confirmed, but only thanks to a sponsor: Milano Prada.
Tevez new place ;) (don't you know you might find a better place to play :)

From Zani magazine.
Milano mods & art moderna, the moral capital of Italy, heaven & hell.

They say in Italy every road leads to Rome, well in Milan every road seems to lead to the Duomo, the magnificent gothic cathedral built from 1380 and over five centuries. As a lapsed catholic taught by the Jesuits from junior to senior school (motto “Give me the child until he is seven and I will give you the man” - Ignatius Loyola - so I must have been a man three times over) this place is both heaven and hell to me, solace and darkness in its most splendid form. Entering the dark gothic interior, the majestic stained glass and vaulted ceilings, the blackened mummified corpse of St Borromeus, trapped in time inside his glass tomb, in full canonicals, mitre and bejewelled gloves, the tiered rows of candles lit in memory of a loved one and the procession of priests and altar boys accompanied by a ghostly choir as swirls of incense waft up into the heights, it’s enough to bring anyone to their knees in prayer.
But for me, it evokes rather sinister memories of being ten years old and on school bell ringing duty, and no matter how much I checked my watch over and over, I would always be told I’d rung the bell ten seconds late and would receive six of the best from a kindly Jesuit, consequently I’m always looking at my watch and never late for a meeting but that can’t be a bad thing can it?
The exterior however, is the real joy of this monument to religious fortitude and centuries of political manoeuvring. Sculpted and crafted from Candoglin white marble it is really quite beyond compare, and frankly breathtaking. And you simply have to go up onto the roof walking along the length of the church amongst the marble statues of Saints and Kings, Napoleon to the Virgin Mary, and finally climbing up onto the roof you have the whole of Milan sprawling before you and the Alps in the distance on a clear day.

The surrounding Piazza Del Duomo leads off in every direction to the fashion houses and stores of Milan and I can’t help thinking there is a distinct Mod vibe about the clothes and attitude, from every passing scooter to the cafes and bars, people just simply present themselves to a standard lost on the marauding gangs of Chavs of Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square, fat oafs roaming the streets in their uniform of grey tracksuits and white trainers (having never been in a gym in their lives) stuffing rancid buckets of KFC into their faces and feeding the scraps to the trophy pit bull. The Milano Mods aren’t just a scooter club, it’s a way of life here.

The next day with little time to spare, the concierge at the hotel sends me off to what I thought was going to be the Modern Art gallery of Milan but instead I find myself at the delightful Galleria D’Arte Moderna, a collection of 19th Century art which of course to the average Italian is Modern Art – silly me.
I’m not going to try and pretend I have any real knowledge or education of such art (I’m really a Tracey Emin unmade bed kinda of critic and other such outrages) but I can pass on my joy at this collection.
The ground floor hall features the neo classical marble sculptures by Pompeo Marchesi and hand drawings (uncannily like the works of Leonardo Da Vinci) and extensive works by Milanese artist, Andrea Appiani.
Amongst the sizable collection I was particularly drawn to Massimo D’Azeglio’s ‘Revenge’ and Milgliara Giovanni’s ‘Mortuary Chapel’ and the works of Segantini. There are so many Milanese and Italian artists on display here that it hits home how in visiting international galleries and museums you are only really scratching the surface in viewing the good and the famous and how this gallery (itself a masterpiece of neoclassicism) is a fine example of the background and rich heritage behind the classics and national treasures of Italy.

The blue dome with stars (and England-Milan flag :) and the biggest Christmas (natural) tree in the world have been confirmed, but only thanks to a sponsor: Milano Prada.

England's Saint George Milan flag :). Some days ago Liam Gallagher said Beady Eye next album will be more inspired by George's "All things must pass" (Liam said he cries listening to it). He was also an inspiration for style and Pretty Green clothes. And sometimes Liam also says, e.g. at the end of a Twitter twit: "Beware of darkness", as the song by George.
The other day was 20 years without Freddie Mercury, today is 10 years without my favourite Beatle, also F1 McLaren fan, see an older post on Oasisblues.
Everybody knows John Lennon is Liam's idol, some even say he thinks to be him, but it's not true. When asked about his favourite song, album, etc., it's always something by George Harrison. As album, the triple "All things must pass" (nothing ever lasts forever, lol), and as song Something (Beatles times), the biggest love song ever, also according to the Italian origins legend Frank "The Voice" Sinatra.
A curiosity: the song "Badge", co-written with Eric Clapton (they formed a close friendship in the late 1960s), was released on Cream's Goodbye album in 1969: George also played rhythm guitar on the song, and for contractual reasons, he was required to use the pseudonym "L'Angelo Misterioso" in Italian.
Noel Gallagher probably took the word Wonderwall from the psychedelic "Wonderwall music" soundtrack by George: he was also a film producer, as Liam will be soon, about the Beatles.
When I was a kid my favourite Beatle was Paul McCartney, 'cause he was the first one I've seen (and also met when we organized Literature Prizes, he also wrote poems), from Michael Jackson's duets in the '80s. And Paul had a pretty funny face, the girls liked him, so it was easy for a kid to take him as favourite one.
From George in those years I remember "I got my mind set on you", funny video for a kid.
But since I started to have a deep knowledge of the Beatles, I can say George is my favourite: the vast majority of their songs were "Lennon/McCartney", but his (22 in total) songs with them (also, Here comes the sun, While my guitar gently weeps, etc., and as solo artist My sweet lord, Wah wah, etc.), are precious stones in music history.
Photo: with Pattie Boyd, an Oasis groupie was very similar to her.

Tribute day to George (when you want), you know he was the most inspired one by Indian culture, and most mysterious (because he was introvert).
I was born and spent all my life near this place. This is a hidden street where I used to buy the newspapers everyday, and in fact the name is Press Street (via Stampa). There's also live music and dance shows in this Indian restaurant in Milan historic centre, Sarla www.sarla.it
I love spicy food as the Indian one (and Mexican), and it's also Liam's favourite one. Sometimes I cook Indian even at home, I make the Prawn Biryani, that is spicy rice with curry, shrimps (Jean Shrimpton :), coconut, onion, to eat while drinking tea. One time in another Indian restaurant quite close to this one, a waiter FORCED me ahaha to finish a dish (it was a VERY spicy tomato soup), 'cause probably accepting to eat the whole dish means "good manners" for Indian people, otherwise it would mean you don't like it. My friends were wondering how I could eat that, but almost every day I eat spicy food.
The Football English pub where Oasis used to go, it's near here and next to it there's a Hare Krishna place :))

some beautiful songs by George:
My sweet Lord (where Noel Gallagher copied some Supersonic and Hindu Times)
Wah wah (from my compilation)

Oasis' To Be Where There's Life (song by Beady Eye's Gem Archer), with Indian sitar
Oasis using Indian sitar from minute 5:50
Oasis covering George's Within You Without You

Let's go with the first Christmas song :), another video I've made with some photos of mine from this "impossible" city and an early version of "Let there be love" demo, remixed (from a bootleg of "Fuckin' in the bushes"). I first heard this song in 1999 (published in 2005) 'cause an Oasis groupie girl gave me on a tape.
Maybe no Led lights festival this year (and no Paul's artwork, the Kiss under the mistletoe), it was a psychedelic experience for years, but from the beginning of December until January there should still be the biggest (natural) Christmas tree in the world (from the Alps), and a part to count the kisses for a charity, and the blue dome in the heart of the city with Milan-England cross.
Many Led works seemed to come from Alice in Wonderland. For "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" John Lennon (oh and no park for him, well done new communist mayor eh) said it's the girl on a boat coming to save him: he lost her but then finds her again at the station.
Video feat. Kerry, Becki, Cristina, Evelina, Francesca, Nicole, Liam, Anna, Silvia, David&Victoria :), Rinascente :), Melissa, Laura, Lambretta, Veronica, Noel&Sara and the timeline... I have it longer :P
Oh and Leonardo Da Vinci :). Funny at the end when Noel laughs.
It all makes sense as usual, Liam in the places of the Betrothed -> Manzoni.
For us, these places could be even shit sometimes, and I'd rather live anywhere else, but I know for tourists they're wonderful, because you can breathe history. Sometimes it's the tourists "saving us", telling us they like them, when they come to visit and we show the places.
For the series : "...the Duomo is breathtaking to say the least. Milano women are ridiculously stylish and fabulously slim, gorgeous beings. We get chatting to Marco who was around for Paolo Nutini arriving and had given him a quick hand shake then sloped off, (you know how cool guys like to play it), he is really a Brit Indie lad at heart trapped inside the body of an Italian guy, his taste in music is fabulous. He shaped my pizza into a love heart. Italian men are so smooth!" (Jacq)

I posted about historic concerts, the Beatles only one time in Italy (1965), Led Zeppelin only one time in Italy (1971), the Queen only one time in Italy (1984), etc. There's no particular reason why those legendary bands came only one time (well, for Led Zeppelin there is - hooligans war). Maybe just because time ago it was different... in fact, in recent times I met Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr coming again, I've seen Robert Plant coming again, Jimmy Page too, the Queen came again, of course without Freddie Mercury.
I was posting about California girls, so here is the Beach Boys only one time in Italy (2003), with one difference: I was there :). In those years we were going to loads of concerts, I was really a gig animal, now I'm not even going to Noel Gallagher's - ...unthinkable, time ago.
It was 8 years ago in a November cold and rainy day - not really the California scenery :), more an English one. So you needed a lot of enthusiasm to go there. The venue was the Mediolanum Forum (capacity: more than 10,000), but I've read about only 2,000 people were there. So probably this was also the Beach Boys last time in Italy :), but there were some rumours about them coming again soon. On stage: surfboards, palm trees, it was nice to see. The people were not really young, especially in their 40s or 50s with their wives - so we were an exception :).
"Please welcome...America's band!" There were only 2 original Beach Boys survivors, Bruce Johnston and Mike Love (in Hawaiian shirts and cap, continuously "giving a five" to the people), plus 6 other good musicians, 'cause Brian Wilson, author of their best songs, was touring alone (the other two Wilson brothers are not with us anymore). Johnstone had to sing in falsetto voice that was originally sung by Carl Wilson - not really an easy task (that was probably the best falsetto ever), in songs like the masterpiece "God only knows" (the "perfect song", according to Richard Ashcroft and Paul McCartney, "best song ever written", Pet Sounds influencing the Beatles).
I recorded the concert on a tape, so I've got another little piece of history. They played about 35 songs (!), even if some of them are short, of course almost all of them were big hits (the only famous one they didn't play was "I can hear music").
"California girls", "Surfin' U.S.A.", "Wouldn't it be nice", "Sloop John B", "Little Deuce Coupe", "Fun Fun Fun", "Do you wanna dance?", "Dance, dance, dance", "When I grow up (to be a man)", "Then I kissed her", "I get around", "Surfin' Safari", "Be true to your school", two sweet ones like "Surfer girl" and "Don't worry baby", "God only knows", "California dreamin' " (by the Mamas and the Papas), "Why do fools fall in love" (by Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers), "Rock'n'roll music", "Good Vibrations", "Barbara Ann" (big roar from the crowd), "Kokomo", "Help me Rhonda", "Little Honda", "Summertime blues", etc.
A very good performance and the people were enthusiastic and dancing (even onstage, 3 girls with 1 boy per time). Now we can say we've been to a Beach Boys gig :)
