Victoria Beckham has roped her husband David in to design his own line of smart evening wear for her clothing label.
A source said: “Victoria has been trying to persuade him to do it for a while and he’s finally succumbed.
“She’s reassured him that he has an eye for fashion.”
The England ace, who is recovering from an Achilles injury occured in Milan, has already started working on his autumn/winter 2011 collection.
The source added: “David is hoping to produce a range of men’s couture clothing of fitted suits, smart day wear and an evening range – and Victoria thinks it will go down a storm.” But Mr and Mrs Beckham have not always got it right when it comes to fashion.
Pin-up Becks, 35, scored a big own goal in 1998 when he wore a sarong on holiday.
But he says his worst wardrobe howler was when he and Posh, 36, wore matching leather trousers and jackets.
He recently admitted: “It was great at the time, but now I look back and think: ‘Oh my God, what were we doing?’”
