this is the blog of www.miamilan.com

after Saint Marco day (25 April, national holiday in Italy), “Nederland nationale dag” in Italië (organized with the Consolato Generale dei Paesi Bassi)
You know Milan loves people from Holland (difficult to know why :)
AC Milan new manager soon: from Holland, Marco Van Basten or Seedorf.

organ, my father’s instrument:

he taught me to play when I was a child. But it’s difficult and if you manage to do it, you feel as if you control the whole church, a great feeling. Me at the piano am better in something as Mellon Collie by Smashing Pumpkins and Idler’s dream by Oasis (the song of Shangri-La…). And he can’t play guitar at all :P
  • 27 April, 15:45 for national day of Netherlands (30 April) free concert @ Duomo cathedral, on the day of the future King’s birthday, Willem Alexander
  • 4 May, 10-> 17:30 all free @ San Vittore church (beside Leonardo Da Vinci museum): archaeological excavations, from 12:00 bell tower visit (amazing panorama), bells concert (17:30)
  • 8 May, still for the Dutch, 21:00 free: new organ @ Saint George church (famous for the edict of Milan - Constantine)
models: Stephanie, Sabrina, Justina, Sandra @ San Giorgio (where I first met Liam Gallagher :) - the shoes shop), Colonne di San Lorenzo, Manzoni street, Corso Vittorio Emanuele (places in Milan historic centre where I was born and spent all my life) ...meneghino Marco taking a walk in the sun with noblewomen ;)

free concert @ piazza Duomo cathedral square! (gratis 30 maggio, anniversary of the first "Beady Eye" gig, 30 May 2000 in Milano, without Noel Gallagher the scaredy cat, leaving the band the second of 3 times, the would-have-been last Oasis gig in history included, Milan 30 August 2009, Kasabian played). Kasabian the band Noel's wife loves much more than his husband's depressing music that she hates.

"free Milan gig! The boys will be playing a free gig in Milan's Piazza Duomo for Casa Bacardi Live on 30th May. The open air concert right in the heart of the Italian city will be completely free to fans and marks their only Italian date this year".

"It’s the whole culture, I feel like I slot right in because it’s just very relaxed. The food is incredible, but it is the people who make it. It’s obviously aesthetically beautiful, you’ve got ancient monuments and you can walk round them and they’re beautiful, but for me, it’s the actual people who live here. There seems to be a really good family spirit. There is still a beautiful family vibe."
(Britalian Sergio Pizzorno)

free concert in Piazza Duomo square in Milano (11 maggio), Italian music:
Eros Ramazzotti, Zucchero, Raf, Cesare Cremonini, Alessandra Amoroso, Stadio, Fabri Fibra, Nek, Negramaro, Antonello Venditti, Marco Mengoni

Marmellata#25, nostalgic song about times gone... "since Senna doesn't race anymore, since Baggio is not playing anymore"... :(

Allo stadio (at the stadium), 80's memories, the first time @ San Siro, something unforgettable for a kid

among all these singers, he's my favourite. Un grande salto (a big jump).
His "Self control" was one of the first international most defining songs of the 80s

Some reviews (recensioni). Classic Italian pizzerias are generally good, here are other kind of places.
There will never be Starbucks in Italy, the only country in the world, lol (very traditional).
Italian espresso coffee is the best in the world and there are so many bars managed by families... with Starbucks they would fail.
The founder of Starbuck got the idea to create it when he was in Milano @ piazza Duomo, looking at the bars. Somewhere down the line, everything is Italian ;)
There is Arnold Coffee, similar to Starbucks.

California Bakery *
One is beside Sant'Eustorgio church. They have all the American dishes and it's ok, but they make you wait a lot of time, and at the end you even have to pay the service of (ugly) waitresses. The food was even cold. Not very cheap. We went to American restaurants with better quality food. Models going there.

Old Wild West ****
There are some around (also Piazza Sempione, Colonne di San Lorenzo and near the Hines skyscraper), Mexican-American, it's much better. They also have Argentinian meat (expensive, of course). American (Miller), Belgian (Saint Benoît) and Czech (Pilsner Urquell) beers. The scenery and atmosphere are very nice (but sometimes there could be too many children, it's a place for their parties too). Kind waitresses. Football games on tv.

Santa Monica ***
Another Mexican-American good one (also has long pizzas), it's behind Duomo cathedral. Looks like an American bar. Different beers (blonde, red, weiss) and cocktails. Some cute waitress sometimes. You can watch the football games too. They also do the Italian "happy hour" aperitivo of pubs (free food with just a drink), but the quality depends on what they have at the moment. Many Filipinos going there.

Woodstock ****
Biggest choice of beers you could ever find (a long fridge of bottles too). Quality food. On the Naviglio Grande channel. Some cute waitress sometimes. Football games too.

Panino Giusto ***
There are several around the city. A bit expensive but quality food, Italian sandwiches, Italian beer (Moretti of a better quality). There are some long tables so you can sit close to strangers and maybe have a chat.

YouPizza ***
Near piazza Duomo, they have thick pizza, like the historic Spontini pizza. I was not a fan of the thick one, but I must say it's good, this pizza is soft. They also have different kinds of "focaccia" and dishes. Italian beer (Menabrea). Some cute waitress sometimes.

TroppaPizza (Too much pizza) **
There are 2 restaurants (near Naviglio Grande and Certosa). It's an "all you can eat" formula, you can have how many pizzas you want (80 different ones, but you'll never reach them - we ended with an 8 vs 6) and choose between 12 €uros (all the pizzas + small drink, which is stupid), or 17 €uros (with big drink), or 20 something (22) with coffee and dessert when you'll be already full of pizza. Everytime the waiters pass, you can say no to some kind of pizza and wait for the next one. The pizzas are not round whole ones but slices. The quality is ok but not great. I think they put something in the ingredients, to make you feel satisfied. A friend of mine didn't feel good at the end, maybe because the pizzas are very different and they can cause some trouble. The main waiter is very kind, the other waiters are "non-EU" ones, lol - that's how they can save money from all the pizza they give. Place for birthdays too. Go just ONE time, to have a laugh.

Luini ***
A classic in Milan, eating "panzerotti" (small calzone-like) along the street (near Odeon cinema, Duomo). They had also received an "Ambrogino d'oro" prize for being a Milan "must". Always crowded, it's like a baker.

Mama Burger **1/2
There is one near Duomo. It looks like a McDonald's but red, and the quality of the burger is better, they also ask you how you want it, if "well done" or not. Of course it costs a bit more, 7 €uros for a basic one. Unfortunately the beer is "basic".

RossoPomodoro *
(RedTomato). A pizzeria (a "chain" of pizzerias), it seems that it's owned by footballer Cannaro, but the cooks were Chinese or don't know where from, and the pizza was very oily. You should avoid it.

I will add more places, there are several "burger places", not only McDonald's, Burger King (and Autogrill-Spizzico the fast-pizza) but other ones (also American Donuts, etc.)

In the capital of design, matrioska @ La Triennale. What we'll remember: frogs @ Naviglio.

Danish people (the people who most love Italy and don't know why) with swollen feet everywhere.

In Milano until 8 September @ 900 museum beside Duomo: mostra Andy Warhol - Stardust, prints show

As promised, here it is. Dedicated to Natalie, best conceivable English model, and Killers die-hard fan.
the band born thanks to Oasis.
Together with Oasis' friends Stereophonics.
Milano City Sound 2013 @ Ippodromo San Siro (this festival is thanks to provates and has nothing to do with Milan communist mayor Pisapia, who among many mistakes, also erased many events especially about music and young people). Soon announced many more bands (for June-July): Blur, Skunk Anansie, Iggy & the Stooges, Toto, Santana, etc.
The Killers should've been in Milan last year too, but they went near Romeo & Juliet's Verona (Villafranca).
tickets from 26 January.
News about the Heineken Jammin' Festival 2013: erased... nice one, fucking mayor of my ass (as Noel Gallagher says: "him fucking communist").
As if it wasn't enough all the rest erased under his "government" (also, a square for John Lennon). Not to mention the new taxes and raised prices.

Cara Delevingne naked (models feeling alone)

new song: Flick of the finger, by Beady Eye. New album in June for my birthday.
Beady Eye not only inspired by Milan Futurism. The NSFW cover was shot by Harry Peccinotti, a photographer best known for his erotic work and for shooting the famous Milano Pirelli calendars in 1968 and 1969. His Beady Eye sleeve features a semi-naked woman – the photographer's wife – lying on her back
