Formula One World Champion Jenson Button has put the brakes on his relationship with Japanese lingerie model Jessica Michibata.
The racing driving split up with her because he was struggling to maintain their long distance relationship, but the reason sounds trivial, these people take planes as we humans take a bus. Besides, they were living in Montecarlo. Rumors say there's an Italian boy behind all this. Such a pity, 'cause Jessica and Jenson were about to get married. Her interests in Milan fashion world resulted fatal in their relationship.
Despite the break up, Jenson appeared in high spirits today as he trained in Istanbul ahead of Sunday's Turkish Grand Prix.
Jenson dated Jessica for 18 months, but finished with her following the Monaco Grand Prix - where things also came to a grinding halt for him on the race track.
Jessica has flown out to support 30-year-old Jenson at all of his races this season, watching his wins in Australia and China.
She also saw him lose his lead in the tournament in Monaco two weeks ago - slipping from first to fourth place - when an overheated engine resulted in him having to retire from the race at the start of the third lap.
But despite her being quite the model girlfriend, Jenson struggled making the regular visits to her base in Tokyo, though they were also living in Montecarlo.
Jenson's spokesman told MailOnline: 'I can confirm that Jenson and Jessica have split up.'
A source told The Sun: 'Jenson had a great time with Jessica and it looked like things were moving in the right direction. But the logistic took their toll.' Just over a week ago Jenson reluctantly decided that his racing must maintain priority.
Jessica was often seen on Jenson's arm as she accompanied him around the world to cheer him on from the grand stands.
But it's not the first time the McLaren Mercedes driver has got cold feet over settling down.
Aged 20, he became Britain's youngest F1 driver at the time after a bagging a seat with Williams.
He then made the move from sleepy Frome in Somerset to the millionaires' playground of Monaco where he was a regular fixture on the the party scene.
He developed a reputation as something of a playboy and was linked to a string of beautiful women, including pretty model Kimberley Keay.
In May 2005 he ended his five year relationship to ex-Fame Academy contestant Louise Griffiths, 3 months before they were due to wed.
In 2008 he confirmed the end of his two-year relationship to model Florence Brudenell-Bruce.
Jenson once admitted in interviews that he would like to try a threesome and finds nothing sexier than 'a good-looking girl in a fast car'.
After meeting Jessica he appeared to settle down somewhat and last year went on to win the 2009 Formula One World Drivers' Championship.
