"I head to Monza absolutely full of motivation after a fantastic result in Spa. It was the perfect weekend for me – it’s not only put me back in contention for the drivers’ championship, but it’s shown that we have a car that can definitely fight for the constructors’ title.
It’ll be great to be back in the car so soon after the victory. Monza is one of the greatest circuits in the world and our car seems to be particularly well suited to high-speed circuits, so I’m optimistic that we’ll be competitive again this weekend.
For some reason, the car we’ve brought to Monza in the last two seasons has been really well suited to me. I’ve really been able to work with the balance and enjoyed pushing the car. The success we had with a low-downforce configuration at Spa also gives us cause for optimism.
I’ve finished second here in both my previous races for Vodafone McLaren Mercedes (+in 2009 with Brawn) – I’ll definitely be going for the win this weekend.”
Monza is one of the most iconic racetracks in the world. Built in 1922 (90th anniversary this year) in a royal park north of Milan, the circuit is an eclectic mix of old and new: the crumbling banking that formed part of the original layout still lies adjacent to the modern racetrack, which is the fastest of the 2012 season.
The vociferous Italian fans, known colloquially as the Tifosi, are sure to give every team a lot of support during this, the last European race of the 2012 season. Neither Lewis nor Jenson has previously won at Monza, although Jenson has finished second in each of the past three races at the track.

Interview with "Britalian" Sergio Pizzorno.
Ahead of Kasabian’s gig in Milano tonight (Ippodromo), Sergio tells us a bit about his Italian side and his relationship with Italy. "My Granddad was from Genoa, he came over to England in the 60s. So, growing up, it started with football really. I always supported Italy, through all the World Cups. I always had a blue shirt rather than a white shirt. Because my granddad died when I was very young, to keep the Italian thread in the family going, I think my dad went out of his way to make sure I knew where my family was from. We used to spend every summer in Italy in Abisola or Alassio which is on the Riviera. We’d drive in a battered old Austin Allegro. It used to take us three or four days. I spent every summer there. I grew up on pasta and pizza. My dad was a musical influence on me, but It’s only now I realise it. He was into Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker and Howling Wolf - real blues players - and the Stones, but he couldn’t play anything. He had a guitar with no strings on it, which he used to pretend to play, so I would pick it up and do the same. Pretending just like he did. As far as Italian songs go, there was something I always remember a song called La chate mi cantare *, a real old bad Italian song. There was also one called Gloria - I swear Pulp nicked the riff for Disco 2000. I suppose Zucchero was played. That’s kind of the vibe that was going on in the house. It’s funny because Italian fans have really taken us to their hearts, it’s almost like playing a home town show. The support is just huge. It’s heart warming, especially for me.
I don’t know enough Italian, I’m lazy and I do apologise. I understand a great deal, but speaking it, I’m terrible. And especially when you’re on stage, you don’t want to start throwing out words that you’re not particularly comfortable with. I’m a shy person, if I’m rocking out some Italian, I need to know I’m getting it right.
I suppose Italy is just so very different to back home. It’s the whole culture, I feel like I slot right in because it’s just very relaxed. The food is incredible, but it is the people who make it.
It’s obviously aesthetically beautiful, you’ve got ancient monuments and you can walk round them and they’re beautiful, but for me, it’s the actual people who live here. There seems to be a really good family spirit. The computer generation doesn’t seem to have changed that. There is still a beautiful family vibe.
And all the people I’ve met along the way have been so nice, the fans especially. Even when they’re just asking for an autograph it’s very polite. And they’re very aware that if you’re with your family to just leave you alone."
* La chate mi cantare is not French and it's "Lasciatemi cantare" (let me sing) "L'italiano" (1983) by Toto Cutugno, sort of "national anthem". Also, Sergio is not Serge in a French way... Gloria was by Umberto Tozzi

Noel Gallagher naming Milan again on his blog, "After that we drove overnight [he clearly did NOT drive, he has no driving license] to Milan. I love Milan and Italy in general. Weather was mad hot. Must've been nearly 100 onstage!! Not as hot as Coachella but proper sizzling all the same. Show was alright. Nothing more, nothing less. I remember being taken out for dinner after to some swanky footballery type gaff. Very nice it was too . . . Beckham used to go there I'm told." He talks just like me... Beckham used to go there, Beckham used to do this and that (risotto, lol). He was wearing the same trousers as always, from the 2001 sessions as his "new" songs. Let's hope his wife washed them (he calls his wife "staff"... not really nice). Thank God (not Noel) for him, he wasn't the last day (main day) with the Cure, or their fans would have thrown plums at him. He could at least request to support the Prodigy, as he had collaborated with them (and Liam... it must be because Liam is now a relative with one of them... I mean Howlett). Noel supported Red Hot Chili Peppers again... what a shame. And he was even happy to be the "support band"... The people said it was "very sad" to see him promoting his new career performing old songs. Nobody was interested in his solo songs and only because he performed Oasis songs he had some applause. Says a lot and enough said.

It's time for some summertime's madness. Many gigs in these days in Milano, so it's the right time to visit the city: the other day there were the Cure (Heineken Jammin' Festival), yesterday @ City Sound, Ray Manzarek & Robby Krieger (Doors), tomorrow Morrissey (Smiths), 12 Paul Weller (Vigevano), 13 Paolo Nutini (@ villa Arconati), 17 Stone Roses + Mick Jones (Clash), 19 Kasabian with Britalian Sergio Pizzorno (free acoustic unplugged in a shop, no tickets + signing autographs session + gig), 27 Beach Boys, etc. (the new communist mayor is not giving money for these concerts, he's throwing it away... Noel Gallagher would say: "him fucking communist"). Ah by the way, Noel was the other day. One week to the Roses. I've heard Alan is coming... I invited Liam, dunno yet. This yellow colour is often coming back... the book "The art of treating women"... the beer of the English blonde @ gig... Fools gold ;). After party: fifteensome by me, lol (as usual when coming back from gigs). To a place here (where Liam was, and my bodyguards Beppe & Pippo - Liam also was @ Just Cavalli near us - of course Noel Gallagher never was there, too cool place) I gave them a lot of beer and a deejay console. Since then, they're making parties, lol. (as one of the main Italian newspapers wrote about me: I'm a benefactor for humanity, lol). The last time Liam was there was 1 February 2009 to watch the Premier League, the day before Oasis last gig in Milan with Beckham, the "snowasis" gig, snowing so hard. I was invited to a party with Ian Brown in London in July 2001, we were there for just one night. I remember that day: on a little airplane, it was very windy and all the people were throwing up (just like Liam looking at the "fucking fake" Noel... "makes me want to throw up"), you could see their heads alternatively going down (just like the people in the future, realising about Noel...). I didn't, BUT I farted out loud, LOL (very windy ahahaha) I remember I was making jokes to two cute blondes pulling their feet from behind and they were laughing. I was with a friend from south Italy moaning, told me to leave them alone... wanker.
if you're looking for a place to live in Milan, we have a big apartment (110 mq2) in Milan centre, close to Duomo cathedral, to share expenses with other people (one is coming only during the winter and the other works all day). Very safe zone (no criminality) and no noises, there are double glasses for the windows. If you're interested, message me for info (marco@miamilan.com)
here's finally the secret of my threesomes: my friends call me "Salamander" because I have a very long tongue :PPPPPPPPP I must be an alien :) ...because I'm the wizard of anticipatiiiiions ;) - or, the lizard, lol. My dentist is even scared of me - Big Mouth like a lion ;)
(the film was "earth girls are easy")
song of the summer 2012: World not set in stone (Beady Eye) from the mod style rules: sunglasses need to be large, plastic and round ;)
you make me feel like Formula One :) ...history + some photos at the end. With an autograph for Liam. 2 months to Monza (special 90th year)
in Rome they wanted the Formula 1... YES, the Vatican GP with the Pope on the papamobile, lol. Monza is history

here's finally the secret of my threesomes: my friends call me "Salamander" because I have a very long tongue :PPPPPPPPP I must be an alien :) ...because I'm the wizard of anticipatiiiiions ;) - or, the lizard, lol.
I was with a friend from south Italy moaning, told me to leave them alone... wanker.

Inter Milan captain Zanetti and Baresi @ legendary San Siro stadium.
In the last day (Bresso) there was 1 million of people, final one of 3 days here, for the international meeting of the families (they hosted them).
I remember the Pope's newspaper had put Oasis in the "good music".But also made a plea against weird names for the kids, as Liam Gallagher's "Lennon" :) ...right, we should call them "BeadyEye" by the end of the year (end of the world).

Noel Gallagher to the new mayor of Milan would say: "him fucking communist".
Noel Gallagher would say: "proud to be ignorant"...
it's a choice... communists say they're "anthropologically superior"... it depends on which breed of dogs.
I think he did it on purpose because communists hate the Pope (he received menaces), so he wanted to mock him (but he got another shit impression for himself). The Pope gave € 500,000.
By the way, with the previous mayor (a woman) we should have had a new park dedicated to John Lennon and again concerts for new bands. With the new mayor : nothing.
(NOT giving money also for the festival not at @ Arena but the Ippodromo (near San Siro stadium) with the Stone Roses, but there will be the concert anyway, paid by privates)
